We need to be careful not to blame the individual adjusters... because it's the system that's to blame. Claim adjusters have to juggle 200 or more workers' compensation cases at a time. Businesses have to keep the budget in line to keep pace in today's business environment and insurance company claim departments are not immune.
Claims Adjusters have to work with the employee, employer, nurses, doctors, attorneys, agents, etc. etc. They review injury reports, medical bills, doctor notes, etc. etc. And, the checks they cut for your claims come out of your pocket!
Do you know that loss reserves affect your Experience Mod the same as a paid claim?
Do you get reports on open reserves before annual reports are filed to compute your experience modification?
Who makes sure that the overworked adjusters have your claims properly managed?
